Zander Thunder

Target fish: zander, pike, bass

DRESSING:

Hook: 1
Mounting thread: white
Body: synthetic fibers, chartreuse for the back and white for the belly
Lateral line: olive flashy fiber
Eyes: yellow dumbbell eyes
Weed guard: 0.80 hard mono

Notes: The Zander-thunder is tied to work close to the bottom and to be retrieved with a jigging style. Two tricks are employed to reduce snag to a minimum, the fly works reverse and use a solid weed guard. What impresses is that it is tied in a way that prevents the fibers from fouling on the hook. I use this fly the all day and in the evening it is still in its original shape, no need to re-comb the fibers when tied accurately.
